A wave of nausea washed over her with such a fierceness she stopped dead in her tracks. It was a sudden onslaught causing her to experience a bone-deep weakness. An unnatural heat rushed throughout her body.

She eased herself into a chair. Placing her bowed head in her hands defeated, tears streamed down her cheeks. How much more could she take?

The electric bill was over six hundred dollars as a result of the extended freeze the south was experiencing. The water bill was one hundred twenty dollars. The water had to be left dripping to prevent the pipes from freezing. The gas bill was three hundred dollars, The doctor and hospital bills were mounting and overdue. The two months off without pay for surgery had depleted her savings.

As careful as she had tried to be, the five hundred dollar check she had given yesterday for vehicle repair was going to overdraft her. Without transportation, she could not work and would never get out of this hole..

The hot water heater went out this morning and was unrepairable. She would have to have a new one. Heaven alone only knew how that was going to happen. With a deep dark heaviness of heart, she arose making her way across the room. What else could possibly happen?

Wearily she walked to the mailbox. Dread filled her as the white hot sensation of nausea was overtaking her again. She shut her eyes and opened the envelope with reluctance.

Very formally written, the letter announced she had ten days to pay the property taxes on the home she was renting to own or be evicted.

In an uncontrollable rush her stomach evacuated its entire contents.Void of all but bile dry heaves attacked her as she fell to her knees desperation invading her spirit.
