Abduction: A Draco Malfoy Love Story
Part 1

Chapter 1:
'Are you sure she's the one, my Lord?'
'Yes.'
'How do you know?'
'Does it matter?'
It was the twelfth of July and Tom Riddle was staring through the window of a house in rural London. Standing next to him was Lucius Malfoy, a man with white-blond hair and a pale pointed face. He was staring at his master curiously.
'No, of course not. But, my Lord-' he began.
'Silence, Lucius!'
Lucius closed his mouth immediately and looked through the window at the scene in which his master was watching intently. It was that of a brunette woman who was entertaining her baby daughter by transforming the appearance of her nose. First a snout, then a trunk, a beak. The baby was giggling furiously. Tom sighed.
'Such a shame this scene can only last a little while longer.' he said, his voice full of sarcasm.
'My Lord, if you don't mind me asking. What exactly is it you're planning to do?'
Tom paused for thought.
'You see the baby, Lucius? She came to me in a dream, but not as a baby. She came to me as a fifteen year old girl. She told me that I had killed her mother and taken her as a baby. She then said that I had brought her up as my own and taught her the dark arts. She said she played a major role in bringing me to power and without her. I would be defeated.'
Lucius stared disbelievingly 'And you believe this?'
'Of course I do. Why would I be here otherwise?'
'So, you plan to kill the mother and steal the child?'
'...Obviously.'
'So ... why haven't you done it already?'
'Because, I have high respect for pure bloods and as both of them are, I shall let them have one last happy moment before the woman dies.' A cruel smile formed on his mouth.
At this, Lucius was silent. He and Tom continues to watch the pair as the minutes wore on and then. The clock struck ten. On the last chime, Tom turned to Lucius.
'It's time.' he said.
Tom took one last look at the happy scene and strode towards the front door. He raised his wand but was stopped by Lucius.
'Allow me my lord.' he said
Tom lowered his wand. 'Very well.'
Lucius blasted open the front door and the lights in the hall went out. He and Tom heard the woman scream. As they strode across the threshold they heard the woman enter the hallway. Through the darkness they could see her wand was aloft.
'Who's there? she said, her voice trembling. 'I warn you. I'm armed!'
Tom illuminated his wand.
The womans face alighted with terror, yet she did not move from where she was stood.
'What do you want?' she said, her words much braver than her voice.
'I want the girl'
'Why?'
'Give her to me'
'Never'
'Avada kedavra!'
The woman thudded to the floor and her wand rolled out of her hand. Tom smiled maliciously. He kicked her lifeless body aside then made his way to the living room. The baby girl was sitting sucking her thumb and was looking at Tom curiously. He lifted her up in his arms and studied her carefully. Her hair was changing between shades of red, she was obviously a metamorphmagus like her mother. Good, thought Tom. That would mean she would be useful with disguises. Lucius walked into the room.
'What is her name, my Lord?'
Tom hadn't thought of that. He racked his brains of a decent name to call his new daughter. Then suddenly, a name flashed across his mind. It was brilliant.
'Ridley,' he said 'Ridley Riddle.'
'Where will we take her?'
'To your house, Lucius. I'm sure you and Narcissa can take care of her while I do my, uh...duties' Tom's eyes glinted maliciously.
'Yes, my Lord'
'I'm sure she will be another wonderful addition to your family. Tell me, how is your son?'
'Uh, fine as far as I know.' he said, confused at his master's sudden interest in his son, Draco.
'Very well, let us make our way to yours, Lucius, and introduce my new daughter to Narcissa. I'm sure she will be most pleased. She has always wanted a daughter in the family, has she not?' said Tom, dropping the subject of Draco as quickly as he had begun.
Lucius mumbled something about Narcissa and sent a Patronus. Obviously containing the news of Ridley.
Tom gave Lucius a meaningful look and the both of them dissaperated with Ridley in tow and appeared at the Malfoy's iron gates. After a few moments, they saw Narcissa Malfoy running through the front door outside to where her husband and master were waiting. When she had made her way to the gates, she was breathless.
'Is this the girl, my Lord?' she said
'Yes, I have given you and Lucius the duty of looking after her. I do not want to be slowed down by a mere baby'
Narcissa's face was flooded with delight 'My Lord, thank you. Thank you so much!'
Tom handed her Ridley and turned to Lucius.
'Are you aware of what Severus told me a few weeks ago?' he said
'You mean, the prophecy?'
'Yes'
'What about it, my Lord?'
'Wormtail has informed me of the Potter's location. I am to go there tomorrow night and kill the boy. In the unlikely event that I do not succeed, I ask you this: You are to bring up Ridley as though she were my own child, you will teach her everything you know, and finally, It is important that her and Draco do not fall in love. That is the most important one. Do you understand?'
'Yes, my Lord, but, why-'
'Do not question me Lucius, just do as I say' There was a note of urgency in his voice
'Of course, my Lord' said Lucius, backing away.
'Good, now take Ridley inside and remember what I said.'
Narcissa rushed away, cooing at Ridley. Tom turned back to Lucius.
'Goodbye, Lucius' he said, and with that, he dissaperated once again. Lucius stood, looking at the place where his master had vanished and after a few moments, he turned and followed his wife inside.

Chapter 2:
Ten years later, Narcissa Malfoy was thinking about that exact night as she sat at the dining room table with her husband sat opposite. Lucius looked up from his newspaper.
'You look troubled, my dear. What is the matter?'
'Oh, nothing' she replied in an attempt to be cheerful. She banished the thoughts from her mind and thought about her second favourite thing in the world. Money. It was obvious that the Malfoy’s had a lot of it as it was shown in their current property. For a start, it was a manor, not a house. Secondly, the Malfoy’s had a very expensive taste for furniture, and showed it off whenever possible. Narcissa smiled as she looked at her surroundings. The dining room had a polished walnut floor which matched their long table perfectly. The chairs in which they were sat were high backed and elaborately carved, with a plump emerald cushion on each one, and the black marble hearth contained a roaring fire which heated the room perfectly. Narcissa smiled to herself and turned to her husband, who smiled back. She sighed contentedly. She had a beautiful house, a rich husband who she loved and her only son and the girl they had brought up, slept contentedly upstairs in their bedrooms. Just when she felt that she couldn’t be any happier, two tawny brown owls flew through their diamond paned windows and they were holding the letters telling the two eleven year old children upstairs that they would be going to Hogwarts, the only Wizarding School in the entire country. Narcissa turned to the house elf next to her which was serving her coffee into a bone china cup.
'Dobby, fetch Draco and Ridley downstairs, they have post' said Narcissa to the house-elf. Dobby nodded and put down the coffee pot and cup he was holding, he made it hover over to where Narcissa sat, gave her a low bow and disappeared with a loud CRACK. Narcissa smiled happily and looked round at her husband who was sat opposite her. He gave her a returning smile and turned back round to read his newspaper. Just as Narcissa had finished untying the yellowed envelopes from the owls’ legs, Ridley came through the heavy oak door into the dining room first, her usually long and silky chestnut hair now lay lank and greasy at her elbows, and her skin was pallid. She hadn’t slept for a week since the nightmares had begun, but still, she had a smile on her face which was definitely an improvement.
'Is it from Hogwarts? What does it say? When do we go? We are going right? Oh I can’t wait!' Ridley’s eyes were shining with happiness. Narcissa smiled as Ridley sat down at the long table and grabbed her letter. Draco came into the dining room next, walking with his usual swagger; he pretended not to notice he had been called down and simply sat at the long table, absentmindedly stroking his white-blond hair.
'Draco, you have post' said Lucius Malfoy curtly, holding out the envelope to his son.
'Oh, yeah, right.' Draco took the envelope from his father, slightly pink in the cheeks and began to open it. He scanned the first sheet and casually tossed it to the side, not really caring what it was about and went on to the sheet with all the things they needed before they went. He came to the last part of the sheet and his ever so slowly expanding smile dropped a few centimetres. He looked up at his father, seething, as if to say it was his fault. Draco flung the letter aside and sat with his arms folded, not looking at anyone.
'What is it now Draco?' said his father sighing
Draco swung round in his chair 'It says we can’t bring brooms to school.' he said scornfully. He huffed and turned round to Ridley who, on the other hand, was ecstatic. She had torn her letter open feverishly at the other end of the table, and was now scanning the paper, eyes wide and shining.
'Narcissa, please can we go to Diagon Alley tomorrow to get our stuff?' asked Ridley hopefully. Narcissa frowned.
'Well, I suppose there isn’t any harm in going tomorrow, but...’ she paused, trying to find the best way of getting the message through, 'But, I don’t want to walk round with a girl who looks like she’s spent the holidays with those mugle lovers you adore, because, after all, we do have our pride to maintain,” said Narcissa proudly.
'I don’t look that bad, do I?' she asked, looking at her reflection in the back of a spoon. When she didn’t get a reply she looked down at her hands, being thankful that her fringe covered up the fact that her eyes were filling with tears. Draco knew this method very well as Ridley used it often on him when they came to the subject of her father, it had been used more often than not recently as Ridley kept having mysterious mood swings; he didn’t want anyone else to notice that she was crying so he took Ridley’s slender hand in his own and, ignoring his parents curious stares, he led her upstairs.
'I’ll, uh, go get Dobby to run you a bath shall I?' said Draco trying to be helpful as they began to ascend the black marble staircase. He didn’t particularly like it when Ridley cried, as it left a sinking feeling at the pit of his stomach and what didn’t help was the fact that she had been crying a lot recently. Ridley shrugged. He didn’t know what to say after this as he wasn’t used to comforting people, it was normally people who wanted comforting after they’d spoken to him. To be honest, he didn’t really see himself as a caring person. But this was different; he had a special bond with Ridley that made her feel like a sister to him. After all, she had lived with him for nearly her whole life already. When they came to the top of the stairs, Ridley turned to him,
'What’s wrong with me Draco, I feel so depressed, all because I’ve been having those stupid nightmares about my father, and-'
'What!' Draco stared disbelievingly
Ridley gasped and her hand shot straight to her mouth. She hadn’t meant to tell Draco what her nightmares were about. She had only confided in Narcissa with the promise that she wouldn’t tell a soul. Ridley backed slowly to her door, not knowing what to say next. Then she stopped as if contemplating what to do next, then finally she walked forwards and whispered, 'Thank you' before lightly kissing Draco on the cheek and backing towards the ebony door that led to her bedroom. When she had closed it behind her Draco touched the place where she had kissed him and smiled. He never thought he would have a chance of her liking him in a million years, but now...Draco was teetering to follow her to find out if she would tell him anything else, but eventually, he decided against it. And with that he turned swiftly and went back downstairs to where his mother and father were waiting with curiosity. One thing was for sure, he was keeping the last part between him and Ridley.

Chapter 3:
Ridley closed the door behind her and sighed. That should distact him, but...
'Oh my God. What have I done?' she said to herself, panicking. Ridley turned bright red as she remembered kissing him, and the look on Draco's face as she had pulled away. He totally didn't like her that way.
'Oh God, Oh God, Oh God!' she said, sliding down the door and sitting down on the cold, stone floor. 'Um..okay. I'll tell Draco...um...that it was a meant in a sisterly way. Yeah, that's an okay excuse. I think. Oh...What if he tells Lucius and Narcissa' Ridley gripped her hair in her hands and rocked backwards and forwards, racking her brains of something to say if they knew. Her thoughts were distracted ,however, by a sudden THUD that made her jump so violently she accidently bashed her head on the door. Clutching her throbbing head with one hand, she stood up and looked for the source of the noise. As she glanced around the room, there was a tapping noise coming from outside her window. The curtains were closed so she couldn't tell who, or what, it was. Ridley edged cautiously towards the window and yanked the curtains open. It was Errol. Ridley sighed a breath of relief and opened the window, allowing the owl inside. He had an envelope attatched to his leg. Ridley recognised the writing on the front as that of Fred Weasley's. Fred and Ridley had secretly been in contact since they had met in Diagon Alley last year. Him and his twin brother, George, were in their second year at Hogwarts at the time. They would be meeting again this year. Only problem was, they were in Gryffindor, which was one of the four house groups. Ridley would most likely be in Slytherin.Gryffindor and Slytherin were worst enemies. Ridley chewed her lip worryingly. Oh well, she'd worry about that later. She untied the envelope and watched Errol swoop back out of her window before opening it.

Hey Ridley,
Heard you were coming to Hogwarts. Meet me, George, and Lee Jordan in carriage 4 on the Hogwarts Express. Can't tell you why. Hope to see you soon.
Fred x

Ridley smiled. Knowing Fred and George, it would probably be something funny. They were masters of all jokery. But that wasn't the only reason she was smiling. Fred had taken a liking to her (or so she thought) last year in Diagon Alley. And she had definately been attracted to him in return. There was only one problem...
'Ridley, stop being so stupid. Draco doesn't like you and you don't like him!' she said firmly to herself
She slipped the letter back into the envelope and sat down on her bed deep in thought. Just then, there was a knock on her door. Ridley quickly flung the letter underneath her bed just before Narcissa came in.
'You okay, Ridley? Draco seems a bit worried'
'Oh thank God'
'What?'
'Oh, nothing Cissy. I'm okay' Ridley said putting on a grin. She was thankful Draco hadn't told them about the kiss. Now she had nothing to worry about, except...
'So, I was wondering: What house do you fancy being in when you get to Hogwarts?'
'Slytherin, obviously' she lied
'Hmm, you know me and Lucius both used to be in Slytherin?'
'Uh huh'
'Are you sure you're okay? You seem a bit unresponsive'
'Oh, it's nothing. Don't worry'
'Well' said Narcissa, peering at Ridley's face 'I still think you could do with a good bit of sleep. I'll bring some food up for when you wake'
'Thanks Cissy'
Narcissa closed the door behind her and Ridley retrieved the letter and clasped it to her chest, before sinking into bed and immediately falling into another restless sleep.

Chapter 4:
The next morning Ridley woke with a throbbing headache. She groaned and rolled over to face her alarm clock, it read 06:37. Ridley gripped her aching head and sat up. She felt funny. Then she realised, it was the first time in two weeks that she hadn't had one of her nightmares. She got out of bed and looked at her self in the mirror. Considering she hadn't had much sleep she didn't look too bad. Just as well, she thought. Still, maybe it was time for a change in hair colour. Ridley closed her eyes and scrunced up her nose. When she opened her eyes back up, a girl with long, dark cherry-red hair was staring back at her.
'Nice.' she said to herself, twirling a lock of hair around her finger.
She was going to Diagon Alley today (hopefully she would see Fred, but that was unlikely), and tommorrow, Hogwarts (or more importantly, The Hogwarts Express). Ridley was ecstatic. Ignoring the time, she skipped out of her room and downstairs, where Dobby was kindling the fire.
'Miss Ridley!' he said (or rather, squeaked) to her, jumping up, 'sit down, sit down.' he pulled out a chair at the dining table for her. Ridley sat down smiling. Dobby had always had a soft spot for her. It might have something to do with the fact that she was the only one in the Malfoy Manor that showed him any kindness, but nevertheless...
'Dobby thinks Miss Ridley's change of hair colour suits her very well.' he said 'It shows her fiery spirit, Dobby thinks'
'Shhhh' Ridley said, giggling 'You'll wake Dra- I mean everyone'
Dobby eyed her suspiciously but turned to the teapot
'Would Miss Ridley like tea or coffee?'
'Umm, I'll have a coffee, thanks Dobby' she said politely
Dobby had started to pour coffee when a certain blond haired someone walked through the door.
'What's all this racket?' said Draco irritably
'Oh, um, sorry Draco' said Ridley timidly
'I didn't mean you' he said softly to Ridley 'I meant him!' he yelled, pointing at Dobby.
'Dobby, is sorry he woke Master Draco, sir' he said bowing 'Dobby will shut his ears in the oven for being such a bad elf'
'Damn right you will' said Draco kicking Dobby out of the way and sitting next to Ridley.
'So, what happened yesterday?' he asked softly, stroking her cheek
Ridley laughed. 'Oh, sorry, I just wanted to distract you, I wasn't thinking straight.' The lies poured out of her mouth like honey. Sweet, sickly honey.
'Oh' Draco dropped his hand and looked away
Ridley was giggling apologetically 'Sorry'
Draco's face turned from sad to furious. 'How can you laugh when-'
Just then Narcissa walked in 'What's all this noise?'
'Oh, nothing Mother. The elf was just being his usual self' he said angrily, he looked over to the corner of the room where Dobby was bashing his head against the wall. This seemed to give him some sort of sick pleasure as he sat back in his chair and smirked.
Narcissa was looking too. As was Ridley. Draco looked at them, Ridley in particular.
'What?' he said angrily 'He's an elf he can cope!' He stood up and with a furious look at Ridley, walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Narcissa looked at Ridley curiously.
'Nothing, it's just...I kissed Draco last night and he thought I was being serious about it.' Ridley hoped Narcissa would believe her lies like Draco had done.
Narcissa stoppped, 'You-you did what?'
'I, uh, kissed Draco ... Why?'
'Ridley,' Narcissa took Ridley's small hands in her own. 'Promise me you won't do that again.'
'I-'
Promise!'
'Okay, I won't. But why?'
Narcissa ignored this question and turned to Dobby.
'Elf! Make me a coffee!'
Dobby sadly walked from the wall and half-heartedly started pouring coffee.
'You look a lot better this morning, Ridley' said Narcissa, changing the subject entirely as the coffee was placed in front of her along with the 'Daily Prophet'.
'Yeah...well-'
'The nightmares..have they...'
'No, they've stopped' said Ridley, still slightly curious.
Narcissa seemed satisfied. She leaned forward and scanned the cover of the newspaper.
'A break-in at Gringotts. I'm not surprised. Getting goblins to run the place. Honestly-'
Just then there was a series of loud bangings and Ridley heard the shouting voices of Draco and Lucius. She heard Draco thudding downstairs and a few seconds later he strode through the door angrily, took one look at Ridley, and...'
'DRACO MALFOY! HOW DARE YOU HIT RIDLEY!'
Narcissa was fuming.
'What!' Draco swung round to face her, thought better of it then turned to face the door where, stood there, was Lucius Malfoy.
'Draco' he said silkily 'I care not for your excuses, only that you apologise to Ridley'
'I-fine ... sorry.' It was flat, and meaningless. Even so, he shoved past his father, who said 'I'd get dressed if I were you Draco. We set off for Diagon Alley in one hour.'
Ridley was shocked, surely they hadn't wasted that much time already. Yet, sure enough, when she looked at the clock, she saw that it read 06:59. Then just as she was about to turn away, it changed to read 07:00.
Draco looked at them all, looking defeated, then with a last malicious glance at Ridley, turned around and half-heartedly walked upstairs.

Chapter 5:
Two and a half hours later, the Malfoy's and Ridley were walking down Diagon Alley. Draco was refusing to talk or even look at Ridley. This suited her very well, as she didn't think she could put up with either his cruel taunts or awkward conversations. She couldn't believe that only two days earlier, her and Draco had been getting along just fine. But still. They walked on for a bit until Narcissa came to a stop in front of a shop. Ridley looked up, it read: Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions. Ridley turned to Narcissa.
'Can me and Draco get our robes seperately?'
Narcissa had picked up the tension between Ridley and Draco pretty quickly, but had not commented. She gave Ridley a curt nod.
'Do you mind if I look around by myself?'
'No, dear, not at all.' she seemed rather distant
'Well, okay, see you guys later'
Ridley walked off towards the Florean Floretscue's Ice Cream Parlour. She knew Fred and George liked it there, and was hoping to see them. She looked back. Draco, Lucius and Narcissa had all gone into Madam Malkin's. Seeing that they were gone, Ridley ran at breakneck speed towards her destination. She skidded to a halt at the entrance. Ridley peered through the window until ... there! Fred and George were standing at the back, whispering about something. Ecstatic, Ridley opened the door and sauntered over to them.
George was the first to turn round, he smiled at Ridley, then tapped Fred on the shoulder. Fred turned round and saw Ridley.
'Hey, Rid,' he said casually. 'Long time, no see.'
Fred looked even better than she remembered, his red hair falling over his brown eyes, the way he casually slouched and yet seemed to do it so gracefully...
'Hey Fred' she said quite breathlessly
George looked at her 'You okay Rid, you look a bit flushed, do you wanna go outside or something?'
'No, I'm fine!' she retorted. Ridley hated when people thought she needed special attention just for something silly like that
'Okay, okay. Just asking'
She sighed 'Sorry, it's just, me and Draco haven't been getting on too well recently'
'Suprise, suprise' smirked Fred
'What's that supposed to mean'
'Well, you know Malfoy-'
'Draco' she corrected
'Yeah. Well, he's not the best guy to hang around with, y'know. He's more, dark arts and doom and all that kind of shit'
'Oh, and you think you're better?' she teased
'Well, yeah'
Ridley was shocked at the way he just came out with that. It was as if he was ... flirting.
'Anyway, we'd better get going' George said pointedly
'Yeah' said Fred following George out of the door.
'Wait! Where are you going?' she called after them
George pointed to the window, where his mother was waiting. She was a plump, kind woman usually, but at the moment, she looked quite impatient.
'Wait, hang on. I wanna say hi to your mum'
Fred paused at the door 'fair enough' he said, and he opened the door for her.
Ridley walked outside.
'Hey, Molly' she said
Mrs Weasley smiled 'Hello, Ridley dear. How are you'
'Fine thanks' she said
Mrs Weasley looked like she was about to say more but then Lucius came round the corner, Mrs Weasley's face hardened.
'Ridley,' he said curtly 'Narcissa says to come get your robes'
Ridley said a quick apology to Mrs Weasley and looked back at Fred and George, but they were deep in conversation. Ridley walked after Lucius sadly.
'Ah Ridley, there you are!' said Narcissa, as Ridley and Lucius came round the corner, 'We only have to get your robes and your wand then we're done!'
She seemed oddly cheery.
'Okay, thanks Cissy'
Ridley walked into the shop just as a boy was walking out, he knocked past her accidentally.
'Sorry' he mumbled, rushing to a man a few feet away, who was the size three men. Ridley gawped at how tall he was, but gawped even more when she saw the scar on the boy's head. Could it really be Har-
'Hello, dear, come to to get your new robes?'
A squat, smiling woman was looking her up and down.
'Um, yes. I-'
But no sooner had she said this, that the woman propped her up on a stool and began to measure her. Ridley looked back out of the window, but the boy and the giant man were gone. She turned around sadly.
'Right then dear,' said the woman, as she wrapped a set of robes around Ridley and started pinning them to size, 'Will this be your first year?'
'Um, yeah'
'Hogwarts, I presume?'
'Yeah. Why? Did you go there?'
The woman chuckled.
'Oh, me and Hogwarts go way back. Back to the days when Albus Dumbledore was only a transfiguration teacher!'
'Dumbledore taught transfiguration?' Ridley said in awe.
'Ooh yes,' the woman said merrily, 'and a good one at that!'
They stayed silent for a few more minutes until the women said, 'Right, dearie, you're all done'
Ridley hopped off the stool, paid the woman a few galleons and walked out of the door, robes in hand. Narcissa was waiting outside. She didn't look happy.
'Where's Draco?'
Silence.
'Cissy?'
'...Draco's gone missing.'
'What!?!?'
'He's gone..'
'Why? What happened?'
Ridley took Narcissa's arm and walked with her as Narcissa talked.
'Well, we were waiting for you, and Draco wanted to look at brooms, so Lucius went with him, next thing I know, Lucius had come back and said that Draco had given him the slip. He's looking for Draco now.'
'Hang on, to go look at brooms?'
'Yes, wh-'
But Ridley had gone racing off. The broom shop waas right next door to Florean Florescue's, and the last people she had seen there were-
'Fred! George!'
Fred whipped round, looking angry. But his face relaxed when he saw who it was.
'What-'
'That little brat's just gone and started hurling abuse at us!'
'What, Draco?'
'Yeah!'
'Where is he?'
George pointed to the broom shop next door.
'See for yourself.'
Ridley peered through the window to see Draco looking at the new Nimbus Two Thousand. He didn't look angry. He looked thoughtful. Ridley was confused. She turned to Fred.
'What exactly was he saying to you?'
Fred stood still. He looked like a rabbit caught in headlights. He seemed to be doing some quick thinking.
'Fred?'
'Um, uh ... look, Rid, I'm really sorry but we've got to go.'
And that was it. Fred walked off, practically dragging George behind him. George gave an apologetic look to Ridley and they both disappeared round the corner.
'Hmmm,' Ridley said to herself. She wondered what it was that Fred seemed so embarrased about. She looked through the window of the broom shop to check Draco was still there, then she began to walk back to Madam Malkin's to tell Narcissa where he was. As she walked, she thought of possible explanations as to Fred's erratic behaviour. Surely he couldn't know that she liked him, unless...
Oh. No.
What if Draco knew about it. After all, he had been angry when she told him about the kiss not being serious. But how would he have found out...
'Oh-my-god!' Ridley clapped her hand to her forehead. The letter! She had brought it downstairs earlier, planning to take it with her. But she had left it on the dining room table. And the last person that had been in there was Draco. Ridley began to panic. Suddenly, a huge force nearly knocked her off her feet.
'Jesus! Watch where you're going! You nearly-'
'Sorry abou' tha'!'
Ridley looked up. The huge man was stood there, and the boy with the scar was still with him.
'Hey! You're Harry Potter!'
The boy flattened his fringe over his scar sheepishly. The man spoke up.
'Ah, he's not used ta all this fame ya see.'
'Really?' Ridley wondered how he could not possibly be used to this. She stuck out her hand.
'I'm Ridley. Ridley Riddle.'
The man's face darkened, then cleared quickly.
'The name's Rubeus Hagrid. But ya can jus' call me Hagrid. An' obviously ya know who this is,' he said, gesturing to Harry, who finally spoke up.
'Pleased to meet you Ridley.'
He shook her hand. Ridley smiled. He seemed like a nice person. Not like Draco at all. Then Ridley remembered what she was supposed to be doing.
'Oh, um. I'm really sorry, but, um. I have to go.'
'How come?' said Harry.
'Well, my friend went missing and now I've found him so I need to go tell his mum.'
'Who's your friend?'
'His name's Draco Malfoy.'
This time, there was no mistaking the fact that Hagrid looked angry.
'Ah. Well tha's jus' fine anyway. 'Arry still needs ter get 'is wand. Don' ya?' Hagrid looked down at Harry.
'Uh, yeah. Okay. Bye, Ridley.'
'See you at school,' she said back.
Harry and Hagrid walked off, leaving Ridley alone. She walked round the corner to where Narcissa was stood, Lucius was back too. Narcissa looked at Ridley expectantly.
'He's in the broom shop,' Ridley said resignatedly.
Lucius walked off quickly. Obviously furious. Narcissa sighed and turned to Ridley.
'Come on dear. We still need to get your wand.'
Ridley took Narcissa's arm again and they walked off towards Ollivanders.

Chapter 6:
When Ridley and Narcissa had reached Ollivanders. Narcissa let Ridley go in alone as she waited outside. Ridley walked into the dusty shop, feeling oddly as though she was being watched. An old man walked out from around some shelves. Ridley assumed this was Ollivander. He smiled eerily.
'Ah, hello my dear.'
'Um, hey...' Ridley felt slightly awkward.
'Which is your wand arm?'
Ridley held out her right arm. Ollivander got out a tape measure and started to measure her arm. He then walked off to some more shelves as the tape measure continued by itself. As Ollivander picked a box from one of the shelves, Ridley looked around, the place was full of shelves! He walked over to her and the tape measure dropped at her feet.
'Elm and unicorn hair. Eight inches. Springy.'
Ridley picked up the wand and waved it. Nothing happened.
'Nope!' Ollivander said, looking cheery, 'Try this. Willow and dragon heartstring. Seven and a half inches. Whippy.'
Ridley did the same with that one. Again, nothing happened.
'Hmmm,' Ollivander looked thoughtful, 'How about this one. Ebony and Phoenix Feather. Ten inches. Light.'
Ridley picked up the wand and immediately felt a warm tingling in her fingertips, she waved it a little and pink sparks came out of the end. Ollivander smiled.
'Well that was quick wasn't it? Oh well, here you go.'
He put the wand back into the box and gift wrapped it before giving it to Ridley, who paid him a handful of sickles. She thanked him and walked out of the shop, before almost collapsing at the hilarious sight that met her eyes.
Lucius was marching down the road, dragging Draco by his ear, while Narcissa was shouting at him.
'Draco Malfoy! How dare you - wandering off like that - all alone - stupid!
A giggle escaped Ridley's mouth before she could stop herself, but she instantly regretted it. Draco shot her a look of pure loathing and she looked down at her feet. Today had not gone well at all. She needed to make it up to him, and fast. She edged towards him slowly, being extremely cautious of another slap. But he didn't hit her. Just looked away. Ridley edged closer and gave him a small hug. Ridley never was good with words. But Draco must've known she was sorry, as his shoulders relaxed and he hugged her back gratefully.
'I'm sorry,' Ridley mumbled
'Me too,' he mumbled back
They pulled apart and looked at each other, smiling. Narcissa laughed.
'I honestly don't understand you two,' she said, smirking. She placed her arm round Draco's shoulder, and held out her hand to Ridley.
'Come on. Let's get you two home. But this doesn't mean you're off the hook, boy,' she said, waving her finger threateningly at Draco.
Draco looked down at his feet and Narcissa sighed.
'Come on then. Off we go.'
And with that, they all set off back towards the entrance of Diagon Alley...

Chapter 7:
'Ridley! You forgot your wand!'
Draco ran downstairs, Ridley's wand in his hand. She giggled and retrieved it from him.
'Thanks, Draco.'
He smirked, 'Moron. Where would you be without me?'
She smiled and pushed him playfully. September 1st. Today was the day. She was going to Hogwarts. The thought itself has somewhat lightened everyone's mood and yesterday's argument had been forgotten about completely. Her hair was a dirty-blonde emo hairdo today. Her usual style. Ridley and Draco grabbed their school trunks and made their way to the dining room, where Lucius and Narcissa were waiting. Lucius nodded to Dobby, who was waiting by the door. He cleared his throat.
'Dobby, take Draco and Ridley's things to the ministry car waiting outside. And hurry up.'
Ridley heaved her luggage over to Dobby reluctantly. She muttered an apology to him before turning to Draco, who was grinning at her. Evidently, he was excited about today too. He leaned against the wall and folded his arms.
'Can't wait. Can you?'
She beamed at him, 'No. I wish I was on the train already.'
He tipped his head back, 'Me too...'
Dobby disapperated with a loud CRACK which made Ridley jump. After eleven years of this you'd think she'd be used to it. But she wasn't. Draco laughed at her, to which she replied by sticking her tongue out. Lucius exhaled sharply, grabbing their attention.
'Now children, let's not forget your upbringing. We don't want you showing up to school like common rabble. Like those Weasley friends of yours...'
Ridley's head shot up, her cheeks pink, 'W- what?'
He sniffed, 'Well, you seem to favour them for being poor. It's almost as though you feel sorry for them.'
Ridley's shoulders relaxed and she tried to hide the great relief washing over her. So they still didn't know. Narcissa walked over to the children and placed a hand each on their shoulders.
'Promise you'll behave, you two.'
Ridley nodded, 'We will, Cissy. Well,' she added with a smirk, 'I will at least.'
Draco's mouth gaped, 'Hey! That's not fair!' He grinned, 'Don't worry mother. I will behave. Don't listen to her.'
Narcissa smiled at him softly and stroked his hair, 'Aww. I'm gonna miss you.'
He tried pushing her away. Evidently embarassed at this scene, 'Mother. Please. I'm eleven years old now. Stop treating me like a child.'
Ridley smirked, 'Draco, you still are a child.'
'Yeah well, I'll be a teenager soon.'
Ridley smirked again as Dobby reappeared, looking breathless.
'Dobby has taken Master Draco's and Miss Ridley's things to the car, Master.'
Lucius' lip curled, 'Good. Ridley. Draco. Please wait in the Ministry car outside. We will be there shortly.'
Draco looked suspicious, but even so, swaggered over to the doorway and disappeared round the corner. Ridley trailing behind.
Once they were out of sight, Lucius turned to Narcissa.
'Now what's the matter?'
Narcissa grimaced, 'We're in trouble, Lucius. It's happened.'
Lucius' face went pale, 'You mean they-'
Narcissa nodded, 'It's just what the Dark Lord told us not to allow.'
'Have you told either of them?'
'No. I think it's best we keep it a secret. They are too young to know. I just hope it doesn't go any further while they are at Hogwarts. We can't keep an eye on them there, and they could get up to anything.'
Lucius nodded slightly, 'I think it's time we spoke to Severus. I shall send an owl to him once we return home. The ultimate precautions must be taken.'
Narcissa nodded in agreement, 'Come on then. Let us go.'
And with that, they strode off through the door and outside. Meanwhile, a curious little house elf stood in the corner, eyes wide with shock. Had he heard right? And did Ridley and Draco need warning that they were being spied on? Dobby sat down on the floor, and pondered over these thoughts. One thing was for sure; he had to do something...

Chapter 8:
'Carriage 4. Carriage 4. Carriage 4... Ah. Found it.'
A few hours had passed and since then, Draco, Ridley, Narcissa and Lucius had made their way to King's Cross Station, and Ridley and Draco had boarded the Hogwarts Express. By this time, Draco had gone off with his best friends, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, leaving Ridley on her own. Not that she cared. She was now making her way over to Carriage 4, where Fred and George said they'd meet her. She opened the door warily, but her worry eased off instantly, as she saw Fred, George and Lee Jordan (who was holding a curious looking box), all sat together. She made her way over to them.
'Hey Fred. Hey George. Hey Lee.'
Fred looked down instantly and his cheeks turned pink, 'Hi Ridley...'
Ridley frowned, 'What's up with you?'
George laughed, 'Sit down, Ridley. We need to talk.'
Ridley sat down worriedly next to Lee as George began.
'Well, the other day, when that git-'
Ridley held out her hand to stop him, 'Hang on. Lee, what's in that box. It's worrying me.'
He smirked mischievously, 'You don't wanna know. It'd scare the socks off you. Anyway, are you gonna listen to George or what?'
'Oh yeah, sorry. Carry on.'
George sighed, 'Well. When we were in Diagon Alley, Malfoy, sorry, Draco came up to us and uh... Told us stuff...'
Ridley eyed him suspiciously, 'What kinda stuff?'
'Well...' George rubbed the back of his neck nervously, 'He said you were into Fred...'
Ridley raised her eyebrow, 'Into him?'
Lee sighed, 'That you fancy him.'
'Oh!' Ridley blushed. So Draco had found the letter after all. Fred looked up at her.
'So... Is it true?'
Ridley sighed and looked into Fred's eyes. All this time she had liked him, tried keeping it a secret... And Draco had blown it entirely.
'Yeah. It's true. So what?'
There was no hiding it now.
Fred's eyes opened in shock, 'R- really? You like me?'
Riddled nodded shyly, yet the reaction from Fred was the one she least expected.
'Get in there!' he said, puching his fist in the air, 'Finally!'
George laughed at Ridley's shocked expression, 'He think's you're cute. He's been into you for ages.'
Ridley's jaw dropped. All this wasted time on keeping it a secret. She could've kissed Draco at that moment. Even if he had intended to give away the secret for revenge.
Fred smirked and leaned over to her before kissing her gently. He pulled back grinning, 'I guess this officially makes us a couple.'
Ridley grinned back, 'Yeah. I guess...' She couldn't hide the happiness eminating from inside of her. All this time.
Suddenly, the smile dropped, as she realised what this meant. Fred and George noticed her change in expression and spoke simultaneously.
'What's wrong?'
Ridley looked down, 'Draco is going to kill me...'
Fred looked awkward, 'Oh... I see... I take it he likes you too?'
Ridley shrugged, 'I dunno. I, uh... I kissed him the other day but it was only to distract him. Then the next morning he went ape shit because he found out it wasn't serious. But it never occured to me that he might like me in that way.'
Lee grinned, 'Ooh. Love triangle. Have fun Fred.'
Fred grinned and punched him playfully, 'Shut up Lee. That git can't stand up to my charm. Ridley's mine now. Aren't you, Angel?'
Ridley smiled shyly without replying, but it seemed enough of an answer to Fred. Who stood up and shouted to the rest of the carriage, 'I'm dating Ridley Riddle!'
Most people clapped, and a few wolf-whistled. Ridley blushed intensely. Fred sat back down.
'Well, we'd better change into our robes. See you later, Angel.'
He kissed her softly on the forehead and went off to another carriage. Followed by George and Lee.
'Bye,' she called after them.
Once they had dissapeared, Ridley stood up and went off to find Draco. It didn't take long. Once she had left the carriage, Draco came hurtling up the aisle, followed by Crabbe and a howling Goyle. Ridley held out her arm to stop him.
'What's happened?'
Draco doubled over, gasping for air, 'Ronald Weasley's rat's just gone and bit Goyle, that's what happened!'
Ridley held her hands up in defense, 'Okay, okay! Wait, why were you with Ron in the first place?'
'Uh... Long story...'
Crabbe spoke up, 'We tried getting Harry Potter to hang with us.'
'Harry Potter? Oh can I see him?' Ridley grinned as she remembered their short encounter in Diagon Alley.
Draco looked at her in horror, 'I wouldn't. He's practically glued to that blood-traitor. Hanging with those two would be a death sentence.'
Ridley raised her eyebrows, 'Wow. You're not prejudiced at all, are you Draco?'
Draco didn't seem impressed by her sarcasm, 'Just shut up and get into your robes, we'll be there soon.'
'Woah. Jesus. No need to get so het up on me. I'm your friend, remember?'
He shrugged, 'Yeah, yeah. See you later.'
'See ya.'
Draco walked off, followed by Crabbe and Goyle. Ridley couldn't help but giggle slightly. Bitten by a rat. As if.
Ridley walked into an abandoned compartment and changed into her robes. She attempted tying her hair up but she didn't want to look like she was making too much an effort. She didn't want to show up to Hogwarts with everyone thinking she was a nerd or teacher's pet. That was not the look she was going for. Ridley let her blonde locks tumble back down and she stared out of the window. Before long, the train began to slow down. Ridley stood up.
'I'd better find Draco...' she muttered to herself.
Ridley opened her compartment door as the train came to a complete stop. She jogged down the aisle, looking for Draco. Carriage after carriage she ran through, and compartment after comapatment she looked in, but Draco was nowhere to be found. Ridley sighed and slowly made her way off the train. She guessed she'd find him later.
Once she was off the train, a bobbing light appeared in the distance.
'Firs' years! Firs' years this way!'
It was Hagrid, the giant man that had accompanied Harry Potter in Diagon Alley. Seeing as she was a first year, she headed towards him, where a gaggle of students had already appeared. Suddenly she spotted Draco, lurking by the edge.
'Draco!' she shouted, waving her arms.
Draco looked over in her direction. Once he had caught sight of Ridley, he gave her a look of pure loathing. Ridley was taken aback. What had she done?
Eventually all the first years had gathered around Hagrid and he had beckoned them to follow him. As Ridley walked, she wondered what could have possibly happened. Thoughts whizzed through her mind, but she couldn't think of a single reason. Ridley continued to walk, feeling down. A few students shoved past her, trying to keep up with Hagrid.
Eventually they all climbed into boats to row across a great lake heading to Hogwarts. Ridley climbed in a boat with a pug faced girl, and another girl with a butch figure.
'Ridley Riddle,' she siad, holding out her hand.
'Pansy Parkinson,' said the pug-faced girl, shaking Ridley's hand. 'And this is Millicent Bulstrode.'
Ridley didn't know what else to say, so she stared out at the lake below her instead. She let her fingertips skim the freezing water. Eventually they all arrived at Hogwarts and stood in the Entrance Hall as a teacher named Professor McGonogall gave a small speech before leaving them to sort out a few things. In the time that they waited, the first years encountered some ghosts having a debate over a poltergeist in the castle. Ridley hadn't paid much atention so far, she was too busy worrying. As the first years made their way into the Great Hall, Ridley searched for Fred. He was nowhere to be seen. McGonogall came to the front of the hall, where an old hat sat on a stool. This was the Sorting Hat. A few minutes after the sorting had begun, Ridley's name was called out. She shakily made her way over and placed the Sorting Hat on her head. Her eyes finally fell on Fred, who was watching her eagerly. Then she looked over at Draco at the Slytherin table, who was watching her with equal anticipation. She closed her eyes, heart racing, as the sorting hat made it's descision...
'SLYTHERIN!'
