IF I'M STILL ALIVE AT SEVENTY-FIVE
The winter winds are howling outside my door, and I just can't take the bitter cold any more. Bundled up in blankets, but I am shivering still; the fire's out, inside and out, I've had my fill! I know that if I'm still alive at seventy-five, I will welcome springtime with a smile! To all who boast of being warm as toast, you're lucky to be living on Florida's coast. There is much still to be done, I'm only one of the folks who are fighting the inevitable end. I'll make the most of it all, see summer and fall, and see just what lies around the next bend. There is no giving up, I'll keep filling my cup with the good that life has in store for me! I will sing and dance, look for a good chance to live on, at least until I am ninety-three.
