Winter Snow covered hills, the wind chilled as ice, furnace filled with coal driving away the cold. The sun hides, the clouds cover, time runs by as fog looms ahead. Limbs freeze, sounds a muffle, hands feel nothing, nose runs on. Window no longer a mirror, view is hidden, hands wipe it off as it cries. Shuffling shining snow, the drive way is cleared, road lies ahead, sun rises like the phoenix. Assignment: Write an allegorical poem - one with a second distinct meaning partially hidden behind its literal or visible meaning. Please utilize figurative language in your poem. The poem is Allegorical. It utilizes the use of similie, personalization, use of senses and alliteration.
