Falling, on a Field Azure
the tale of Icarus retold
Rated:

Avg Rating: (2)
Scraps of wings or,
Father’s generous gifts
Melted by imprudence and hubris.
The son’s body, burnt sable,
Grieving at his failure to heed
The wisdom of paternal advice.
A miniscule heart, gules, gives up
Its strength as the boy falls
On a field azure.
Loyalty lost to the wind,
Which now brings
The fallen angel to a
Rapid
descent
To the
Hungry
Sea

Inspired by "Icarus" by Henri Matisse
