Beware the Ides of March …
Idus Martii, the Ides of March, A day we should beware. But what if “other” kinds of "Ides" Await their fate out there? What if, perhaps, the “Brides” of March Were ones to make us fear? If they can’t wait for June to come, Are their grooms insincere? Let’s next check out the “Rides” of March By plane or boat or hearse. If each one crashed into a tree, Which accident is worse? What of “Jekyll and Hydes” of March? They’re good … and then they’re bad. They start the day with happy smiles, But then go raving mad! And how about the “Prides” of March, The lion and his crew. But … “pride” could mean the gay and queer A different point of view! Now splash out with the “Tides” of March, The ocean’s lunar pull. Could tidal waves cause tragedy Each time the moon is full? So many “Ides” we should avoid! Each day should we take heed? Let’s stick to just one day in March. I think that’s all we need. ![]() abcb 8-6-8-6 28 lines
