Joe watched in awe as James Potter flew over the crowded stands that surrounded the quidditch pitch. They reminded him somewhat of the images of medieval duals that he had seen in books and on TV as a child. He could not actually believe he was witnessing a game that only 3 months ago he thought was a figment of Mr. Dursley’s over active imagination. He was still coming to terms with the fact that the stories he had been told of wizards and Hogwarts were actually true and that flying above him was the eldest son of two of the stories main characters. He had watched the Potters and Weasleys play during the summer but this was the first time he had seen a real match. He was amazed at the skill of the players as they moved about on their brooms. James Potter and Scorpius Malfoy were scanning the pitch in search of the elusive snitch. A flash of light cought James’ eye and he flew off towards it like a shot, Scorpius quickly followed. They darted between the other players dodging the bludgers, battling to get to the snitch first. Scorpius came up beside James and nudged his broom. James wobbled for a second giving Scorpius chance to get ahead. Regaining control James kicked hard to catch back up with the Slitherin seeker just as the snitch went in to a dive right next to the Grifindor stand. The whole stand got to their feet and cheered as James rolled into a dive just behind Scorpius. The croud seemed to give James a little bit more speed and he pulled to the side of the Slitherin seeker and brought the tip of his broom level. The crowd started to look a little concerned as the two seekers got closer to the ground. The whole stadium seemed to hold their breath. Scorpius to buisy concentrating on the snitch did not realise how close he was to the ground until after James had pulled himself out of the dive to. Attempting to pull out himself he yanked on the broom hard causing the back of it to hit the ground throwing him into the fabric of the Griffindor stand.
James reached his hand out. Stretching as far as he could he clasped his hand round the Snitch just as the whistle blew to stop the match because of Sorpius’s injury. ‘Looks like James caught the Snitch before the game was stopped. I say Griffindor win.’ Came the voice of the announcer. James flew over to where Scorpius was lying. ‘You OK?’ ‘What’s it to you Potter?’ came the reply as Scorpius fought his way out of the fabric of the stand. ‘I’m fine.’ He said turning to the Professor as he grabbed his Broom.
