toe's face?


the choice was worn
over the rocks like

soot or grassy stains
on an infant’s first

steps to the grounds
never seen before

aged to transcend
into years of doubt

blackened by thoughts
never to be known

in sight or from fore
sight or after sight

has an undergrowth of
life over a ledge to

fall into all decisions
scary like cliffs without

the wind that strokes
whispers into an ear
