Faith

Faith

it seems odd
to vary a few
words trying
to define an
unseen hand
being held by
the thread of
a phantom
limb's beat to
eyes that know
the meaning
is beyond the
construction
of syntax and
nouns playing
within the mind
and the twisting
of each sense
around reality
in a dead body
further away
from the far out
cry of the feel of

Prompt: Pick a verse and write a poem about it: Hebrews 11:1

I linked the website above for the source of all the various bible versions I used below. I spaced out three sections of the bible verse Hebrews 11:1 from different English bible translations. I did this because I found the small changes in this particular bible verse to be rather intriguing. The different bible versions are grouped by similar word translations: [Group 1] uses "substance" [Group 2] uses "assurance" and the one in [Group 3] has a completely different syntax than all the others. I used a different font color to show the differences in the groups. The differences are considered differences because they have a minor change from the overall form of the verse. I'm not saying one version is better than the other or that the first version of each group is the right one. All I am saying is the differences in this verse are very interesting to me because of my own views of faith. If you were wondering, my favorite version is the last one. I find the different syntax cool. The best part is that it ends in a coma and not in a period. TAKE A LOOK!!!
