Sincerity

Forgive me oh lord but you know I must ask,
are you certain I'm one suited for such a task?
Surely such a job is more suited for a saint,
and both you and I know lord, one of those I ain't!
Only you know my God what I am or am not,
and I will trust that it is by you this truth I got.

Forgive my reluctance and drive me as you will,
but take not thy truth which your teaching me still.
Though others have I trusted or thought worthy to lead,
but their blindness was like an infectious disease.
I know now my mistake was in trusting another,
and why I'm so grateful you helped me recover.
