Take Me Out To The Ball Game
For love of the game; dedicated to the 2011 MLB season! Featured 4/20/11 Authors NL.1st Pl

Baseball is my favorite sport and every year I can't wait for Opening Day. Go PHILLIES!

The team with the most runs
After nine innings wins the game and
Knows each at-bat brings new beginnings.
Every throw, every catch increases the fun!

Major League Baseball; America’s favorite pastime
Evokes emotion in our hearts time after time.

Outfielders, infielders, pitchers and catchers
Unite as a team that we’ll love ever after.
The umpires determine what’s fair or foul

Telling the teams when it’s time to “play ball!”
Out on the field, the home team can’t wait

To get that third out and
Head back to the plate!
Every hit, every pitch

Boosts their chances
At winning the game and
Living the dream.
Laughing, excited the crowd cheers the team;

Getting in the spirit and doing the wave.
Amid all the chaos, the players step up
Making the plays and not giving up.
Ending the game with the bullpen's big save!

*Baseball* This is an acrostic poem (i.e., the first letter of each line spells out a word or message).
