"When I the Beast, the ruler of all look back at our history, it always makes me feel and understand my magnificence.  At first life was interesting in its constant battle for even a tiny piece of what you call time, but the natural order of things became mundane.  Then your kind appeared.

“At first, you were no different from the rest.  Then your delusion of immortality sparked my imagination.  Right from the start, you were delightfully despicable.  You had everything, lust, greed, sloth, gluttony and a treacherous nature; all the ingredients to insure my amusement.  Yet just like everything else, I became bored.  I yearned for something that would spark my inquisitive nature.  Then a thought came to me so clearly that I wondered why it had not come to me before.

“Until then I  would let the true nature of man form, then I would lead it astray.  It was then that I  understood that it was I who controlled all.  I  wondered just how far humans could go if at conception I  added what is the best of myself.  So my search began for the proper host in which my seed would grow.  I found what I sought in the land beyond the forest.  It was in the land called Wallachia, just south of the area known as Transylvania and Moldavia.  To the east was the Black Sea.

“The woman, her name was Bellis was my choice to incubate my seed.  She was cursed with beauty.  Her maturity developed when she was still but a child.  She learned about the brutality of lust from her father.

“He fell in love with her and possessed her as his greatest treasure. Her mother knew, but protested not.  By the time she was fourteen all that looked upon her face lusted for her.  Her father kept her locked away.  I feasted upon his dementia.

“The land was perfect ground for my seed to flourish, it was awash with war and treachery.  Warlords held onto their piece of the earth with brutality, deals and alliances.  Dracul and Kalia had stood together for many years. They were united against the Turks but their greed kept treachery alive for each wanted what the other possessed.

“A meeting took place at the castle of Kalia. Bellis as always was locked away, but she could hear the music and laughter,so  she watched the feast from the small room behind the crest of the family of Kalia.  It had a small window within the crest.

“As the night wore on the feast of the civilized turned as always into a debauchery of lust and gluttony.  Bellis watched and though she had known nothing but the harsh cruel world of the ruling class, yet she dreamed and wondered why life could not be simple like the peasants that farmed her father's land.  They wished nothing more than peace and a belly half-full.

“Dracul stared up at the crest and dreamed of the day when it would be his family that owned all this land.  At first he was not sure if it was not the wine that was playing tricks with his eyes.  The face he saw in the small window could be that of only an angel.

“He slips unnoticed behind a curtain that conceals a door. Bellis was startled when Dracul entered the small room. Bellis looked at him with disdain.  The look of cruelty in his eyes was like all the noblemen.  Only the wicked can rule the land.

“Everything works out for me.  My seed would sprout in fertile ground, deserving of my magnificence.  All I  had to do was add a few thoughts, some pride, a handful of suspicion and let man's nature take its path of choice.

“Dracul went back to the main hall thinking why would Kalia hide one so beautiful. Dracul sat with Kalia and told him that their families had stood together and the partnership had kept them strong.  We should bond this alliance in blood. Kalia looked into the eyes of the young Dracul, and what he saw made him understand what it was going to take to keep him from his Bellis.

“Kalia sent his best men with orders that Dracul and all who ride with them must never make it back to Wallachia.  As Dracul and his men move across the ridge high above the river, Kalia's band of assassins spring their trap.  Out of the trees wave after wave of arrows cut the men down.  A horse already dead slammed into Dracul still astride his horse.  The impact sent Dracul and his horse over the cliff.  When Kalia's men gathered up the bodies to hide their treachery, they could not get to Dracul.  They did not have to worry; nothing could survive that fall.

“No nothing except someone chosen by me.  I needed him for my plan.  He fell upon his horse enabling him to survive the unsurvivable.

“Throughout the night he laid there.  I tortured and tormented him through his unconscious dreams.  He revived with the morning sun.  Slowly he returned to find out that he was surrounded by vultures that waited silently just out of reach.  One thing that vultures understand is patience, for all of life is nothing more then preparation for their banquet.

“Dracul knew there was no time to waste.  Kalia might already be on his way to claim the rewards of his treachery.  The first thing Dracul did when he got back was to send two hundred of his best warriors with five wagons full of gold to the Turks that were encamped just across his border.

“Also he sent with them a promise of half Kalia's kingdom if the Turks will fight for the family of Basarab.  He knew he was taking a chance with these Turks.  Nevertheless, he was confident in human nature that greed could always buy a soul.

“Kalia's army was just about to penetrate the walls of Dracul's castle when Wallachia's two hundred came back, bring with them one thousand Turks. The taste of victory soured in Kalia's mouth for now all was lost.  He had to get back and save his Bellis.  He gathered his most loyal and abandoned his warriors.  The people in Kalia's castle were in a state of panic, for to Dracul's warriors they would be no more than spoils.  Yet it was the Turks that fanned the flames of their terror.  They knew that the Turks were exquisitely cruel.

“Kalia loaded a wagon full of gold and placed Bellis on top and got upon his horse.  If he can only make it across the valley, his brother will offer him safety.  With twenty of Kalia's loyalist he lowered the drawbridge and headed into the night. The dream of escape was as brief as a scream.  Within fifty yards of the drawbridge all twenty laid dead in a storm of arrows around Kalia and his wagon of treasures.

“Dracul dismounts and walks toward Kalia.  Kalia's fear devours his courage for he thought Dracul was dead.  He grabs Bellis and throws her over his shoulder.  Maybe, just maybe he could lose this aberration in the forest. Alas no, his days have ended as Dracul's men surround him.

‘” Dracul and Kalia pound their swords together in the moonlight while a passionless crowd watched. Dracul's youth wore the old warlord down quickly.  When the sword is knocked from Kalia's grasp Dracul drives his deep into Kalia's shoulder pinning him to the wagon.    Dracul was not done with him yet.  He grabs Bellis telling her, I told you I would be your master.  He then throws her to the ground and rapes her as his men and Kalia watched. Dracul explodes giving life to my seed.  Ahhhhhh yes, sweet memories of that night I introduced myself to what would become one of my favorites. New life develops by feeding off its host, its mother, but my special child feasted upon his.  From the very start she became weak and violently sick.  Her body bloated, boils and oozing sores robbed her of the beauty that was every man's desire.  I  found her to be hideously delightful.  All day and far into the nights she would scream as if my special child was eating her alive from the inside.  Even exhaustion was no escape, for in sleep I  could not help but to play with her dreams.  She could not stand the pain and tried to end her own life by refusing to eat.  They tied her to the bed and force fed.  When the time came for my special child to enter my world, her screams brought me pleasure.  In the end she got what she wanted, her death was exquisite in its agony.  My prince held on with clenched fists as he entered the night.  He brought with him his mother's insides.

“From that glorious beginning, a prince whose name will forever live. At first his father was amused at his cruelty.  By the time the boy was ten, all had become sickened by the zeal in which he pursued his pleasure.  It seemed he would only enjoy himself when he was torturing a helpless victim. His father did not try to stop him, for he knew that men were controlled by fear much longer than loyalty.

“Letting the Turks in to avenge his father against Kalia caused Dracul to be cast out of the Federation.  Yet with the Turks as his allies he kept his land in spite of the Federation's thirst for revenge against his treachery.  Time and politics always change.  Rulers that were once secure can become exposed when the numbers change.  With the Mongols testing the northern borders of the Ottoman Empire, the Turk's interest shifts north, leaving Dracul to stand alone.  A warrior knows when the end is assured.

“Dracul summons his son, my child, and told him that the land called Wallachia belonged to him.  He was sending him to the Turks with Georga his uncle and five hundred of the most loyal warriors to the House of Basarab.

“The fortune is now yours, my son.  The enemies of I, Dracul your father will come and take our land.  You, Vlad III, Dracula will return with a vengeance and claim what is rightfully and will always be the land of your ancestors.

“Dracula learned his lessons well, far beyond even his father's dreams. He established strong ties within Wallachia to the people who remained loyal to the Basarab family.  With the help of the Turks who kept up their pressure on Wallachia's borders, the pretenders to the Basarab family throne were made to look incapable of controlling the land.

“Dracula at only eighteen was already with my help far superior in deception.  While telling the Turks that he would give them land and free rein of the borders he was also sending messages to the King of Hungary that he was loyal to the Federation. King Janos Hunyadi agreed to send his brother to meet with Dracula in the remote hills on the Wallachia and Ottoman border.

“When my special son crossed the border, a thousand warrior sons of Wallachia met him, all were prepared to give their lives to return the name of Basarab to its rightful place upon the throne.  What the young Dracula did then filled me with pride for him.  This is what I sought from my early contact.  Shared pride was new and exciting, for until that moment pride was for me alone.  First he took the hundred Turks that rode with him and impaled them on large stakes and placed them in neat rows forming a half circle.  Their screams danced along the walls of the valleys.  The strong ones held on for more than half a day.  He spared a few the initial slaughter so he could amuse himself while waiting for the brother of the king.  In a land drunk on brutality my Dracula offered the most potent brew.  His men were amazed at his cruelty.  Nevertheless they respected him for they knew that he would lead them to power.

‘Two days passed.  By then the corpses were bloated and oozing.  The air was heavy with the sweet smell of death.  Ahhhhhhh, the flies swarmed, feasting on the living and the dead.  Yes, yes, yes, they enjoyed the living best for torment was added to their banquet.  The buzzing songs of the flies, the screams of the freshly tortured, the flapping of the vulture's wings.  Ahhhhhhhhh, oh yes, I  remember well, for it was such sweet music.

“Dracula got word the brother of the king was approaching. Dracula sat amid the horror and ate as the brother of the King came into the valley. Sit and enjoy, Dracula said to his guest as the flies swarmed everywhere. The King's brother refused. The horror that surrounded him unnerved the King's brother.    He told Vlad III Dracula that the land of Wallachia was now his by order of the king.  The King recognizes that Wallachia is and always will be the rightful property of the Basarab family.  Also the King welcomes Vlad III, Dracula as a Prince of the Federation.  With that Dracula's men screamed their approval.

“‘One by one every town and village on which Dracula's Dragon army cast its shadow is struck numb by the brutality of the Black Prince.  He killed and impaled all of the haves and gave their belongings to the have-nots.  The ones fleeing in terror in front of the black death swarmed the city, their last hope for safety.  With them came the tales of Dracula, making what was left of Vladislav II the man that replaced Dracula’s father army disintegrate and melt into where only the frightened dare to go.

“Vladislav II sits upon his throne.  All that is left of his family surround him. Dracula enters the room.  He is flanked by the heads of  Vladislav II two sons that he sent to stop Dracula looming high above on the ends of long poles.  Vladislav II looks at his sons and failure devours his life.  They swiftly cut down Vladislav II warriors foolish enough to stand by their prince. The women and children cry and huddle tightly around him.  Vladislav II stands in front of what remains of his family.    Dracula takes Vladislav II two daughters-in-law and hands them over to his commanders. They are beaten and raped in front of their children who scream as Vladislav II cries.

“They stripped and tied Vladislav II to a stake placed in the center of a wagon.  On each corner of the wagon were poles.  Two held the heads of his sons, the other two impaled their wives.  As Dracula toured the city with Vladislav II he had never felt like this.  Everywhere the screaming was deafening.  In front of every house and shop were the impaled.  Dracula's bodyguards hacked arms and legs off the victims as they passed.  They then threw the body parts at Vladislav II who quickly was knee deep in pieces of his people.

“The word of Dracula's murderous acts spread across the land like a plague.  When he built his castle, he had secret passageways honeycombing throughout.  When the architects and the laborers were done with their part of the castle, they took the secrets with them to the grave.  His living room and bedchambers were built with bricks and mortar made from ground bones and blood.

“Dracula killed everyone from gypsies to his own people.  He attracted the dregs, bandits, killers and half humans from all over Europe.  He let the very worst of them form bands and sent them out to rob and kill even his own allies.  All they had to do is make it back to Wallachia and safety, for no one dared enter Prince Dracula's land. He marked his borders with his freshly impaled victims. With his stolen treasure, some say he had more riches than the King.

"I became busy with other things but my experiment proved that humans were all my doing."
