End of Days
The reassurance of "together" prompted by a sunset

End of Days

The warmth and softness of your hands
has not changed with the years.
They've offered strength in troubled times
and dried away my tears.

They've touched me gently in the night
and roused my inner passion.
I've held them proudly in the light
regardless of the fashion.

I reach out gently now and then,
a sign of our connection,
to remind us both of what we share;
a lifetime of affection.

The sun is setting, time goes by,
the light is fading in the haze.
But we will hold on tightly
as we watch the end of days.
