She who knows no sorrow and pain
To her your grief you cannot explain

Tell her you cannot about your love
For all this nonsense she is above

And you even cannot philosophize
For to her it’s a useless exercise

So now you wait, and yearn, and pine
And believe she’s coming when there’s no sign

Then all of a sudden it begins to seem
That your love is only a terrible dream

Wo ahd e gham ki kaahish'ha e baihaasil ko kya samjhay
Jo in ki mukhtasar roodaad bhee sabraazma samjhay

Yahaan wabastagi, waan berhami, kya jaaniay kuin hay
Na hum apni nazar samjhay, na hum un ki ada samjhay

Faraib e aarzoo ki sehlangaari naheen jaati
Hum apnay dil ki dharhkan ko teri aawaaz e pa samjhay

Tumhaari her nazar say munsalik hay rishta e hasti
Mager yeh dour ki baataen koie naadaan kya samjhay

Na poochho ahd e ulfat ki, bus ik khaab e pareeshaan tha
Na dil ko raah per laay, na dil ka muda'a samjhay
