THEN THE WELL WENT DRY

I know that God never gives us more than we can handle,
I had to dine last night by the light of a flickering candle.
The wind had taken down a tree and the power went out,
I could have ranted and raved but what's the use to shout?

Life happens.

Then the well went dry, or so I quickly surmised.
That was not the problem, much to my surprise!
Underneath all the snow where the water line lay,
a crack in the water line let the water flow away.

I was fortunate enough to have jugs of water saved,
I got to wash the dishes and the menfolk got shaved.
Not enough water for a shower, I sure hope it will rain,
and I will be able to feel fresh and clean once again.

Life happens.

The ups and the downs happen in this life of mine,
but for the most part, I'm happy, everything's fine!
With a pioneer spirit and the will to try and survive,
I'm sure that I will live until I'm at least seventy-five Smile

There are plenty of folks that are worse off then me,
I'm a true blue American and I'm really glad to be free!
The power is back on and I can see where I'm going,
and someday, the water line will be fixed and flowing!

Life happens
