(Though Tweety is a baby duck, her heart remains canary struck.) When Tweety left her nesting base, she journeyed to a basket place attended by Hare Harriet in Easter theme invariant. Harriet, as was her habit, played the Easter basket rabbit; she dressed in white to capture peers in overalls with rabbit ears. As Tweety stopped to chat awhile, Harriet bade a toothy smile; then Tweety chirped while on one leg: “I tawt I taw an Easter egg.” In the basket, flowers flowing, puffy cheeks, her mauve nose glowing, Hare Harriet just eyed her tweet and thought that she was lemon sweet. Tweety was a webbed-foot wonder with a soft precocious hunger; wings on hips, though stature slight, she was a fluff of dynamite. So Harriet, her eyes aglow, beside her navy-blue plaid bow, with Easter eggs ornate in stock bestowed one for her tweeter talk. And joy arising from the gift, her thankful tweets on high did drift; still Tweety spoke this pleasant peg: “I tawt I taw a chocolate egg.” (Lines: 30) [Rhythm: 8] Written for “Picture Perfect Poetry Contest” Picture Prompt April 201 4-14-11
