The school of "Hard Knocks"

The blistering winds of time
that blew across my tree
have stripped me of the blossom
that was a part of me.
-
I blush in just recalling
what in my mind I see
as black and blue reminders
keep on reminding me.
-
That ending blaze of glory
that had so filled my head
now is nothing more to me
than wounds already bled.
