REMORSE

Being sorry after doesn't heal the bruises.
The pain goes deeper than a moment's rage.
The loss of control with the rawest emotions.
Turn another leaf, turn another page.
Stop the insanity!

Dark the night and bitter the cold wind
that steals the promise of a better day.
Shaking inside, I turn the other cheek,
Forgiveness is not so high a price to pay.

Learn to forgive, even when you can't forget.
The demon that possesses you will be
vanquished by the grace and power of God.
If only you believe and know - and see!

Time wounds all heels, I've heard it said,
or maybe twas the other way around.
I need a band-aid for this aging heart
not content to be put on hallowed ground.
Yet.

Feel the remorse, let it sink in.
Stop the insanity!
