Between me and her there’s such a wedge
She wouldn’t even make a false pledge

She also favors the men who lust
And to me, her lover, she shows disgust

My love is blind; I grope and grope
Knowing that for me there’s no hope

And when she’s there, I gawk and gawk
And care I do not if people mock

And though they say I’m going to break
Loving is something I cannot forsake

Wafa e waada naheen, waada e diger bhee naheen
Wo mujh say roothhay toe thay laikin is qadar bhee naheen

Barus rahi hay hareem e hawas maen doulat e husn
Gada e ishq kay kaasay men ik nazar bhee naheen

Na jaanay kis liay ummeedwaar baithha houn
Ik aisi raah pay jo taeri rehguzar bhee naheen

Nigaah e shoaq, sar e bazm baihijaab na ho
Wo baikhabar hi sahi, itnay baikhabar bhee naheen

Yeh ahd e tark e mobabbat hay kis liay aakhir
Sakoon e qalb idhar bhee naheen, udhar bhee naheen
