Wall of Granite, The Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial

Wall of granite, so polished black
is a symbol for those not back.
It shows the price that they have paid
for freedom’s sake was their crusade.
A human right that some did lack.

And where it stands, a simple track,
cut into earth, a noble crack,
with brave veteran’s names displayed.
Wall of granite.

A humble poem, or frayed backpack
along with tears or harsh flashback.
A call to honor is obeyed
for sons and daughters in graves laid.
A healing tribute, polished black
Wall of granite.
