BRITTLE BRANCHES
I find myself revisiting old dreams I never made. Tender kisses, gentle smiles, the plans we never laid. These memories I never had, unlike their cousins true, dance and play within the life I never shared with you... Winter sunlight, summer moon- I've seen them in your eyes. The whispered words for me alone, the laughs and gentle sighs; and all such moments never shared have kept my old dreams strong. These brittle branches, dear to me, have brought life to this song. A man with moonlight in his hands has nothing there at all. I know the truth of this my sweet, I cannot heed the call of tender kisses, gentle smiles and love which could not be. Yet still I come to sail with you upon this empty sea...
