by arakun the twisted raccoon

The old catfish said, “Does anyone else know about this?”

The young pickerel replied, “No, I just told you about it.”

“Look, don’t take it personally.  But my advice to you is, don’t tell anybody about this, okay?  You don’t want them to think you’re crazy, do you?”

“But I tell you, it really happened!  Look, see the sore place in my mouth,” the young pickerel insisted.

“I see it.  And I know you believe all this, but I am telling you, keep it to yourself.”

“You don’t even want to hear about it?”

“Well if you have to tell it to somebody it might as well be me.”

“See I was just swimming around over there and I saw this grasshopper. It looked delicious and I snapped at it.  Something sharp stuck in my mouth and I tried to swim away but I was getting pulled up, and all of a sudden I was out of the water.”

“You were out of the water?” the old catfish said.  “You can’t live out of the water.”

“I know, but I did.  And there were two of them, real strange looking beings, from another world.  One of them had hold of me.  Its fins were strong and I couldn’t get loose.  It pulled the sharp thing out of my mouth and after a couple of minutes I was back in the water again.  I saw beings from another world.  They abducted me, I tell you, and it really happened!”

“Yeah, yeah,” said the wise old catfish.  “But if you know what’s good for you, keep it to yourself.”
