33  OH, WHEN I REMEMBER THE DAYS BYGONE

Oh, when I remember the days bygone
I’m glad as well as woebegone

And in my heart I feel the desire
With all its force and all its fire

I forget my sorrow; I forget my pain
And feel like falling in love again

I also remember the happy time
And how I enjoyed the glorious clime

And how I used to go to the bar
And share with the censor my wine jar

                                            GHAZAL

Kabhee kabhee yaad maen ubhartay haen naqsh e maazi mitay mitay say

Wo jab milay haen toe un say her baar ki hay ulfat naiay siray say

Bohat garaan hay yeh aish e tanha, kaheen subuktar, kaheen gawaara
Wo dard e pinhaan keh saari dunya rafeeq thi jin kay waastay say

Tumheen kaho rind o mohtasib maen hay aaj shab kon farq aisa
