Self-Sacrifice
by: christine31 The children sitting at the breakfast table, so quiet and peaceful, have no idea how much I have done for them. The lights are on, a fire in the fireplace, so many things to be grateful for. I scrubbed floors, cleaned toilets, even cleaned the desks of many politicians, so the four of them could fulfill their dreams. We have gone without lights, without warmth for so long so they can be teachers, or nurses, or doctors. I smile at them from across the table. They are so sweet and so full of innocence. I have no regrets of giving up on my dreams. To experience their joy and happiness, is the best gift ever and one I would never hesitate to do again.
