43 THE LOVERS KEEP CHANTING HER BEAUTIFUL NAME
With the fire of love their hearts aflame The lovers keep chanting her beautiful name They are the slaves; they do not complain They adore their bondage; they love the chain And even in misery they see the boon For in the darkest night they look for the moon And when of wine they see no sign They pour their blood in the cups of wine And the preacher, they think, is asinine When the wine of love he starts to malign But they dearly love a nightingale When for the rose it starts to wail And for you it may be a huge surprise But their noose, O FAIZ, they greatly prize URDU POEM GHAZAL Waheen hay, dil kay qaraain tamaam kehtay haen Wo ik khalish keh jisay taera naam kehtay haen Tum aa rahay ho keh bajti haen maeri zangeeraen Na jaanay kya meray deewaar o baam kehtay haen Yehi kinaar e falak ka siyehtareen goasha Yehi hay matla e maah e tamaam kehtay haen Pio keh muft laga di hay khoon e dil ki kasheed Garaan hay ab kay mai e laalafaam kehtay haen Faqeeh e shehr say mai ka jawaaz kya poochaen Keh chaandni ko bhee hazrat haraam kehtay haen Nawa e murgh ko kehtay haen ab ziaan e chaman Khilay na phool, isay intazaam kehtay haen Kaho toe hum bhee chalaen FAIZ, ab naheen sar e daar Wo farg e martaba e khaas o aam, kehtay haen ====
