Contest Entry Using Picture Prompt

First rays of sunshine explode in the air.
Revealing fresh flowers everywhere.
Flamboyant blossoms in every hue
There's red, orange and yellow and even blue.

Loveliness as far as the eye can see
A vision of color stretched before me.
This beautiful canvas painted by God
Unsullied; untouched; where no man has trod,

Is truly uncommon, an infrequent sight
Reserved for the rays of morning's first light.
Come with me now, let's begin the day
Amid this landscape, let us pause to pray.

We thank You, Father, for vistas so rare,
For sunshine and flowers and for fresh air.
We thank You for giving us eyes to see
Your wondrous creations and their beauty.

We thank You, Father, for giving us life,
For bearing our sins, for taking our strife,
For promising that You would always be
Right there beside us through eternity.

And please, Dear Father, forgive us our sins,
Cleanse us and make us pure white from within;
Whiter than the snow, that falls from the sky
So that we will be with You when we die.

Make us like flowers with heads to the sun
Faces toward Heaven when day is done
Giving You glory, and praising Your name,
For it is in You, a new life we claim.

Omnipotent Father, Counselor, Friend,
We are assured Your reign will not end.
Until we're with You on that final day
Bless us and keep us out of Satan's fray.

Amen
