Her light had gone, her eyes had closed
Her life and love were lost. The life of flight, the flame, the fight Had vanished with her breath. Her Mount now mourned the loss of one, whose heart had long been joined. To share his life, of fire and air, to fly the high expanse. But now he had a mission new to find a flying mate, one who forsaking all to be his partner for her life. He knew that, as oft' time before, the mystic bond they made, would suffer many tests and trials and finish at her grave. The mourning would but last a while, and then he would forget, the life and former love he lost in his new partner'd state. Euphoria of love replaced would heal his wounded heart, the first time that his fresh new love sat in the flying seat. His wings would push against the air, legs launch them to the sky to soar, to swoop, to fight anew a distant hateful race. Then once again that time would come for all the bonds to break. His human riders mortal death. Un-mortal dragon life. 32 lines
