Who are you?

My pen name is Valerie Jean.  I do not use my last name for writing.  Please call me Valerie.  I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and as such, I am a Packers fan.  More important than being a Packers fan is my relationship to my Lord Jesus Christ.  I am a Christian first, a writer second, and a Packers fan third.

What kind of feedback are you looking for?

I have been writing most of my life.  I started writing with publishing in mind 31 years ago.  I’ve taken the long road to get where I’m at, but the journey is worth it.  I have had my work up for review here on WDC since June of 2009.  I have been greatly encouraged by the reviews that gave me a glimpse of what the agents and editors didn’t tell me.  I am ready to publish my first novel, and that one, Scarred is no longer on the site.  I am working on the final process of editing before submission.  Scarred is the first of a four part series ready for submission.  Manifest Destiny is the second in the series and is on the site for review.  I would appreciate any feedback I can get on this manuscript as I revise it and get it ready for publication.  My biggest downfall in writing is grammar, though I have found I’m getting better at it.  Still, any critique is welcome.



What are you working on?

The focus of all my writing is Christian oriented, whether I write fiction or non-fiction.  My current work is not on the site.  I’m currently writing a Science Fiction novel called Guns of War.



What else are you involved in?

I recently completed the Let Lent Live Adventure with Budroe on WDC.  It was an exciting adventure and showed me things about myself I was unaware of.  Something Budroe is very good at with his adventures.  This always gives me cause to think and praise God for who He is and who I am as His child.
