As I work, I pray, this way, quietly, calmly today,
Specifically I talk, His way,
Uplifted, towards what I want to say, it keeps my sane, away, from cluttered things and my mind wants to entertain,
To let, Him know, my feelings and thoughts, for this day, or moment, to keep from moral decay,
As I concentrate, and filtrate,
The words digested that I ate,
When read, from Gospel, Old Testament, Psalms admit I hate,
My brother, myself, and others, yet I am aware, and hate that trait.
And know I care, and there, the root, of what's the goal,
And when I'm old, I hope, to show,
That caring still, I do my work, I show my love, bestow,
In all I do, towards those I am with, love as to the one who made me and in me, knows is best,
I love, and when I work, I work, as unto the Lord, attests my glow, I'm proud, I'm grounded, focused, centered, quieted inside,
When working, I give my best, and now I know, I've passed His test, though low,
So calmly, humbly, I continue on, to finish what I'm given done as best I can, in all I do, down below on earth, quietly inside,
As I work all day, I pray, to Him, that His will be done not mine, as painful as that be it is divine,
His will be done, then rest each night, and know I'm blessed each night, I've endured the test each night, given my best, well, almost each night,
And know I'm tight; sit right, at peace in my life,
Hope to remain in His sight, in his light, most of all to Christ's delight, to hear one day,
Well done good and faithful servant, well done.
