How the gold has become dim
Inspired from Lamentations 4:1a

How the gold has become dim.
How the roses have wilted.
How the fire has gone out,
and dreams have turned to sand.

How the gold has become dim.
How the milk and the honey have spoiled.
How the sun has turned black,
and rain drops have turned to tears.

How the gold has become dim.
How the people have been defeated.
How the word of hope has died,
and all have turned hatred.

How the gold has become dim.
How the roses have wilted.
How the fire has gone out,
and dreams have turned to sand.
