The Cold Light of Morning
An experiment in prose poems

I dreamt about you again last night and when I woke, I cried.

I could almost feel your hand on my hip, your breath on my neck.

I could almost believe you were here with me.

But, I know that can never be.

Lazing mornings filled with warm, welcomed whispers and kitten-soft kisses are over.

You are lost to me – gone.

And, I’m alone.
