56  SO PLEASE, MY FLOWER, DO COME TO ME

The spring is here with all its glee
So please, my flower, do come to me

When the breeze does blow and hums your name
Of love in my heart it feeds the flame

O how I miss your fragrant hair
Your absence, my love, I cannot bear

I’m losing my reason, my sanity
And I need so much your sympathy

And it loves my torture, my agony
This lonely night, it feeds on me

And I feel sometimes so much despair
That I rip my clothes; I tear my hair

But tells me FAIZ, I’m a silly goose
And my love I’ve made into a noose

                        URDU POEM
                          GHAZAL

Guloun maen rang bharay baad e naubahaar chalay
Chalay bhee aao keh gulshan ka kaar o baar chalay

Qafas udaas hay yaaro saba say kuchh toe kaho
Kaheen toe behr e Khuda aaj zikr e yaar chalay

Kabhee toe subhay teray kunj e lab say ho aaghaaz
Kabhee toe shab sar e kaakul say mushkbaar chalay

Barha hay dard ka rishta, yeh dil ghareeb sahi
Tumhaaray naam pay aa'aen gay ghamgusaar chalay

Jo hum pay guzri so guzri mager shab e hijraan
Hamaaray ashk teri aaqibat sanwaar chalay

Huzoor e yaar hoie dafter e junoon ki talab
Gireh maen lay kay gareebaan ka taar taar chalay

Muqaam, FAIZ, koie raah maen jacha hi naheen
Jo koo e yaar say niklay toe soo e daar chalay
