57 THE GALLOWS AND CROSSES ARE EVERYWHERE
The gallows and crosses are everywhere To make the wretched slaves aware That if they defied their feudal lords This is the punishment they’ll have to bear And when they hang or go to the cross There’re many and many who mourn their loss And the moon and the stars up high in the sky Behind the clouds, they start to cry And when I see them drenched in blood Their corpses covered with dirt and mud I sit in my cage and cry and cry Before I salute and say good-bye URDU POEM DAREECHA Garhi haen kitni saleebaen meray dareechay maen Her aek apnay maseeha kay khoon ka rang liay Her aek wasl e Khudawand ki umang liay Kisi pay kertay haen abr e bahaar ko qurbaan Kisi pay qatl meh e taabnaak kertay haen Kisi pay hoti hay sarmast shaaksaar doneem Kisi pay baad e saba ko halaak kertay haen Her aa'ay din yeh khudawandagaan e mehr o jamaal Lahoo maen gharq meray ghamkaday maen aatay haen Aur aa'ay din meri nazroun kay saamnay un kay Shaheed jism salaamat uthhaa'ay jaatay haen ====
