A female ox who's always late is being stalked by a horny escaped convict - a comedic poem

Several minutes late again,
A dream-like fairy tale –
A bad ox with a date at ten,
So tardy, never fail.

This ox wrote the commissioner
To tell him something’s wrong –
Some jailbird’s been kissin’ her
That we put away too long!

With length and horns a-plenty,
She told him, “Go away!”
But instead he held her tightly
And kissed her his own way…

So finally, she told him,
She’d meet him in the park;
She said she wouldn’t scold him
If he met her after dark…

The jailbird hummed and waited
For three long, lonely hours,
With breath all sour and baited,
And a huge bouquet of flowers.

Then at three o’clock AM,
In the middle of the night,
A mugger chased and robbed him,
And dashed right out of sight…

At last, the commish responded,
That police would nab this bird,
So sorry he’d absconded,
But she screamed, “You’re quite absurd!”
