You know they’re testing our love again
You can hear all over the cries of pain
The sound of shackle, the jingle of chain
Again and again; oh, again and again

With lovers like us they’re filling the jail
And there’s  no bond, and there’s no bail
But although we are weak and frail
In the test of love we’re not going to fail

Here we find a broken heart
And there a heart that’s falling apart
We hear somewhere a lover moan
An injured soul with a terrible groan

So there is torture; there is pain
And we hear their cries again and again
It sounds so terribly inhumane
Enough to drive a man insane
But that’s how they test our love again

Hui phir imtahaan e ishq ki tadbeer bismillah
Her ik jaanib macha kohraam e daar o geer bismillah
Gali koochoun mae bikhri shoarish e zangeer bismillah

Dar e zindaan pay bulwaay gaay phir say junoon waalay
Dareeda daamanoun waalay, pareeshaan gaisooun waalay
Jahaan maen dard e dil ki phir hui tauqeer bismillah
Hui phir imtahaan ishq ki tadbeer bismillah

Gino sab daagh dil kay, hasrataen shouqeen nigaahoun ki
Sar e darbaar pursish ho rahi hay phir gunaahoun ki
Karo yaaroun shumaar e naala e shabgeer bismillah

Sitam ki daastaan, kushtadiloun ka maagra kahiay
Jo zair e lab na kehtay thay, wo ab kuchh barmala kahiay
Musir hay mohtasib raaz e shaheedaan e wafa kahiay
Lagi hay harf e naagufta per ab taazeer bismillah
Sar e maqtal chalo baizehmat e tafseer bismillah
