This is a short story about my the travels that I went on in the early spring of 2011.
What's special about this, is that this travel experience brings together distant relations who had not been heard of or seen for many a year. My family travelled from Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada, to Charlottetown Airport, just outside of Charlottetown, by car. Once @ Charlottetown Airport, we boarded a plane bound for Pearson International Airport, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Once @ Pearson Airport, we boarded a plane bound for Keflavik international Airport, in Keflavik, Iceland. Once @ Keflavik Airport, we boarded a plane bound for Manchester International Airport, in Manchester, England. Once in Manchester, we rented a car and drove to Poynton, Cheshire, to visit my sister. My sister used to live in Didsbury, but moved to Poynton last year. She still works in Didsbury, and commutes every day. Her husband works in Manchester. Poynton is the last stop of the Manchester train line. The day we arrived I got hiar cut... "A Number 2 All Over". I got a shave too! That's service that we just don't get here in Canada! It was actually my plan to wait until we got to England to get a hair cut! That evening, we tarvelled to Cheadle, Cheshire, to my brother-in-law's mother's house where we would be sleeping. My sisters house is bigger than their old house in Didsbury... but there just isn't enough room to sleep extra people! Whereas @ my brother-in-law's mother's house, there's lots of room! The next morning we were up early and down for breakfast. We then spent the day with my sister. We travelled to Lyme Park. We parked the car by the Boar's Head pub, and walked along the canal. We then crossed over the canal, through farmers fields, and then finally onto the Lyme Park estate. The house wasn't open, but the gardens were. So I took a LOT of pictures! We had lunch there, and I had an Americano with an extra shot of espresso to make it stronger ("mmmmm"), We came home via a different route... a direct line to the Boar's Head! This is not the most scenic route, but it cuts off all of the farmers fields. Not too many days later, we said our goodbye's, though we would be coming back before we left Britain, and headed North towards Scotland. Our final destination was the Orkney Island's, but they were a little ways away! So we drove to north on the M-6, which then became the M-60. Left England, and came to Scotland! We finally turned off @ Stirling, but didn't stop. Our first stop was @ the House of Bruar... a candy factory. Unfortunately, it was closing when we arrived! So we couldn't buy anything! After that, we headed up to Moulin, and went into a back-door brewery that only exports its beer! The only place where you can drink it on tap, is @ the Moulin Inn (which was next door). That's where we took up residence for the night. The next day, I had to get a new memory card for my camera, then we were off towards Inverness. On the way, we came across The Highland Folk Museum, in Kinggussie. The Highland Folk Museum is 1 mile long, and stretches over hundreds of years. Next stop, Inverness! UNDER CONSTRUCTION
