A Day in The Life Of An Elf

I am Trina and I am an elf. I live in a tree in the forest. There is a waterfall near by with a pond. There are white swans on the pond and flowers of every color under the rainbow. There is green grass and the sky is always blue even when it rains. I share the tree with a squirrel family and a family of blue birds. We get along pretty well. I live in the bottom half of the tree. It is a huge tree so I have plenty of space. I live by myself. This is what I do in a typical day.

I put water in water pitchers from the pond. Water is so plentiful. I go to the witch's garden and get carrots, peas, radishes, potatoes, pumpkins, strawberries, cherries and I pick oranges and apples from the tree near by. She {her name isd Lila} yells at me and throws buckets at me but I always manage not to get hurt. I have to eat. I go to the pond and pick berries. I take these back to my tree and store them. I share my food with the squirrels. I check on the blue birds and they are always happy to see me.

I love to play in the waterfall. Fairies fly all around but they don't bother me. They are cute, harmless creatures. Mermaids live in the waterfalls and they are friendly and sing songs. Sometimes, I get on their backs and go for a ride. I like to sat on the mushrooms that grow near the pond and trees. The Princess {her name is Elizabeth} from the castle is out for a ride on her black unicorn. The Princess is nice to me and I get to ride on the black unicorn. His coat is like velvet. The Princess brings me trinkets like goblets, bracelets and necklaces. For a human, she is so sweet. I have to hide frrom knights and other riders. I am so small that they probably can't see me but I hide in caves behind the water falls.

I look at my reflection in the falls. I see my pointed ears, blue eyes, strawberry blonde hair. button nose and pointed feet in my shoes. The Princess says I am cute. I wear lavender dresses and sometimes I wear pink, green or white dresses. There are a few other elfs but I don't see them very often. Anna, my friend lives in the other side of the woods with her parents. I have tea with her. My parents left years ago and I don't know where they are. Ronan, another elf lives in a tree by me. He is a cute elf with brown hair, twinkling green eyes and I love his sweet mouth. Sometimes he goes with me to steal food out of the witches garden and he likes to ride the black unicorn with me. He likes the Princess like I do. Ronan is a loner but I hope he will marry me someday.

Ronan did come by today. I made him a meal of carrots, potatoes, onions, peas and berries. Ronan loves what I cook. We played in the pond until riders came and we hid out in the cave. He kissed me and tells me that he is glad he has me in his life. We left the cave and a dog chased us. Luckily, we made it back to my tree. There is a secret passage in the tree and humans can't find it. I am glad. I don't know what humans would do to elfs and I wouldn't want to find out. Lila sends out bugs when humans get near her cottage. The bugs never bother me. They are afraid I will eat them. Lila never bothers me except when I steal from her garden. I have been told that Lila likes elfs. I have no fear of her.

It is getting late and starts to get dark. Ronan hugs me and says he has to go. I ask him to stay but he doesn't. I stay in my tree after dark. I am afraid of the dark and I am afraid to go outside. I have my tea and lock my door. I go to bed and will be up at first light. I will start my day all over again. I do hope Anna or Ronan will stop by tomorrow. I do get lonely but Ronan is near by. The woods and my tree are my home. Life in an enchanted forest is peaceful and I feel safe. Tomorrow is another day and I look forward to it. I hear a knock at my door. I look out my peep hole. It is Ronan. I let him in and he tells me he loves me. He asks me to marry him. I say yes and we kiss. I will never be lonely again. I can't wait to start my life as a married elf.
