A World Without Your Song

I was looking for someone to be my friend
but you wanted to be my hero.
If I measured you a scale of ten
I figure you’d be a zero.

I see your lips moving to a song
but to me you’re just a mime.
There’s nothing going on with us
so you’re just wasting my time.

Chorus
I hope that you don’t take this wrong
but in a world without your song
I wouldn’t notice that it’s gone.

I don’t have anything against you,
I just wish we’d never met.
It’s not that you’re hard to remember,
it’s just you’re easy to forget.

I appreciate you spending time
but you’re driving me insane.
Though it’s only been ten minutes
I can’t recall your name.

Chorus
I hope that you don’t take this wrong
but in a world without your song
I wouldn’t notice that it’s gone.

I don’t have anything against you,
I just wish we’d never met.
It’s not that you’re hard to remember,
it’s just you’re easy to forget.

It’s time for you to move along
because I really have to go.
I’ve got a new love waiting
but who he is, I just don’t know.

Chorus
I hope that you don’t take this wrong
but in a world without your song
I wouldn’t notice that it’s gone.

I don’t have anything against you,
I just wish we’d never met.
It’s not that you’re hard to remember,
it’s just you’re easy to forget
.
