Don't Give Up Hope
A religious poem about a child talking to God about being abused

My precious little child,
I heard you call my name
Despite what your father says,
you’re not the one to blame.

I know how much you’re hurting,
and time will heal your pain.
Ask me to lead the way,
or your hurt will still remain.

I know sometimes it’s hard,
to think I’m here to help.
You must first believe in me,
before you can help yourself.

You will always find your answers,
in the book I left for you.
It’s important that you read it,
if you want to know the truth.

The devil was involved here,
he had all the control.
I simply couldn’t stop him,
he had your father’s soul.

He must confess his sins
and lift them up to me
Until then I can’t help him
he’ll never be set free.

What you need to do now
is just worry about your soul
Finding ways to serve me
should be your only goal.

Whenever you are ready
I will start you on your way
If I am your Lord and Savior
then indeed you will be saved.

Whenever you call me
I hear you loud and clear
I will look inside your soul
to see if you’re sincere.

If serving me is what you want
and you’ll live the Christian way
I will extend my hand to you
and together we will pray.

When your life on earth is done
and you are at your end
I’ll be waiting at the gates
to take you home to heaven
