Somebody Help Me, Please!
A poem about the desperation of a child before being sexual abused

Sparkling eyes so warm and bright,
where do you hide late at night?.
I don’t believe what I can’t see,
all I feel is you touching me.

Time for you to go away,
you’re not welcome any day.
I’ve got to go where I am safe,
a place where I can isolate.

I hear you coming down the hall,
I try real hard to make you stall,
I know there’s nothing I can do,
wake me up when you are through.

There’s that monster in my room,
he's coming back way too soon.
He never speaks, not a sound,
I get angry when he’s around.

He looks at me, then he winks,
that makes me sick I cannot think.
I want to die, I think I have,
for my abuser here is my dad.

My life is ruined, torn apart,
split in two my broken heart.
My soul is empty, never heard,
love inside me not nurtured.

My head is spinning out of control,
I’m just a hoar who lost her soul.
I can’t get back what you stole,
I’m only half no longer whole.
