UNDER THE STARS

A lover's glance at twinkling stars
brings pleasure beyond measure.
Sands of time may make him mine,
and it is those stars that I treasure.

Under the stars in a midnight sky
I find the peace that I have craved.
A soldier back from the bitter war
with our freedom gallantly saved.

My love returned with battle scars
and for that I am so truly blessed,
Picking up the pieces of our lives
with time for a well deserved rest.

Counting stars, an impossible task
that would take forever and a day.
A lover's glance, reflecting stars
in his sad eyes of steel blue-gray.

A lover's glance at twinkling stars
brings pleasure beyond measure.
Sands of time may make him mine,
and it is those stars that I treasure.
