My joy and pain are because of you
And without you, darling, I cannot do

And if we part, and if we meet
It’s all in your control complete

And all the advice I get from sheik
It’s because of you that I cannot take

Sabhee kuchh hay tera diya hua, sabhee raahataen, sabhee kulfataen
Kabhee sohbataen, kabhee furqataen, kabhee douriaan, kabhee qurbataen

Yeh sukhan jo hum nay raqam kiay, haen yeh sab waraq teri yaad kay
Koie lamha subh e wisaal ka, kaie shaam e hijr ki muddataen

Jo tumhaari maan lain naaseha, toe rahay ga daaman e dil maen kya
Na kisi adoo ki adaawataen, na kisi sanam ki murawwataen

Chalo aao tum ko dikhhaaen hum jo bacha hay maqtal e shehr maen
Yeh mazaar ahl e safa kay haen, yeh haen ahl e sidq ki turbataen

Meri jaan, aaj ka gham na ker keh na jaanay kaatib e waqt nay
Kisi apnay kal maen bhee bhool ker kaheen likhh rakhhi haen musarrataen
