Under The Stars

Under The Stars


Under the stars, a moonless sky,
through the hot singing night
gushes down the cool torrent.
Collected energy swirls in gyres.

The current pulls and pushes.
The frothy fluorescence leaps
over rock and hill, the torrential
flow rushes for miles on the plains.

The sultry stars watch it settle
into calm smoothness; its limits
widen into a river, takes in the fields
before merging with the eternal sea.

Under the ever vigilant immortal Eyes
I too would flow forward widening my
horizons, and like the river meeting the sea,
I too long to unite with the universal Soul.
