Devoted To You
A rhyming loop poem describing my love for the woman who holds my heart

Devoted To You

I was once asked if I am devoted to you; why?
Why would they ask that? Without you in my life, I’d cry.
Cry like a lonely lost soul who’s heard a last good-bye.
Good-bye?  Hardly, I’d never leave the apple of my eye.
Eye swollen with tears that fell like rain from the sky,
Sky clears, clouds disappear, my spirit soars high.
High as a kite, for with love, I can’t deny.
Deny you my love?  How could I?  On you, I rely.
Rely on our love, for this question could imply.
Imply that our love has waned as time flew by.
By all that’s been and all that will be, I reply
Reply to them that it’s true love; for you, and I
