DISCUSSION OF ASSIGNMENT 2

Was the second assignment tougher to write than the first?

For me it was. POV- determining who's point of view is being used is at times difficult for me. In writing, it is my worst nightmare. I tend to switch back and forth from one POV to another without even knowing it. This is the most difficult part of writing correctly for me. My mind seems to shut down and procrastination sets in. I attempt to revert back to childish quotes of "I think I can. I think I can." to force myself to do the lesson. I get physicall ill and the stress of POV only adds to the problem.

I finished the lesson and this DT. The DT somehow did not go through. We had bad weather and I think the internet was not working properly, so here I am doing it all again.

As a reader, do you have an opinion about the POV choice(s) in books/short stories you’ve read? For example, do you prefer to read stories written in first person? Third person? Or is it the story, the author's rendering of all the different characters and scenes that rope you in?

It is the author's rendering of all the different characters and scenes that rope me in. Even the book cover is inspiration for me to read a book many times.

I mentioned above that 2nd person POV is the least popular form of writing. Have you ever read or written in the 2nd person POV?
Here is a story written in 2nd person. Read this story and then think about why the author chose to use 2nd person. Does it work for this story?
"How To Become A Writer"

I have at one time or another, but seldom use 2nd person when writing. I am sure I've read 2nd POV , but cannot recall a specific title.

I think it does work for this story. I think the author wanted to point out this could be any young person coming to terms with choosing an occupation and how the final outcome can be for not just the author.

What is the POV in Brownies, ~~ ZZ Packer ??

It is told in first person from Laurel’s POV.
