So Serene, So Still
A mirror poem about beauty shrouded by mists

So Serene, So Still

Up?  Or down?
Tracks lead away,
Unseen terror?
Or hidden beauty
Are you afraid?
Maybe calm.
Still, it’s so
--Serene--
So it’s still
Calm maybe.
Afraid you are.
Beauty hidden,
Or terror Unseen
Away lead tracks
Down?  Or up?

Note:
A mirror poem is a palindrome, it reads the same from top to bottom as it does from bottom to top.  Written for the Pond Poetry contest June 2011.
