When you are pulled down
by the gravity of life's disappointments and others' failures, it is me that you come to for safety. I brace myself for the impact, ready to catch you with outstretched arms. But instead you bounce back from my fingertips and out of my reach. As I watch you soar, I wait down here, knowing one thing you can always count on. I will always be your place to fall.
