Him
When admiration transforms into obsession

The look that sparked
The flicker of fire
The feel of the want, the pull of desire

The smell of his skin
The shape of his hands
She'd fallen so deep you can't understand

At night she can't sleep
His face in her head
Tossing and turning alone in her bed

Obsession took hold
She couldn't escape
She had to be with him, she just couldn't wait

She climbed to her feet
And fled to the door
No holding back, not anymore

The drive to his house
Hands gripping the wheel
What would he say, how would he feel

She parked in the shade
And creeped to the door
Searching for spare keys all over the floor

With no keys in hand
The frustration grows
Until her gaze reaches, the open window

The balcony seems the perfect way in
Oh how romantic
To climb up and in

A rose from the trellis
The last perfect touch
She wanted to have him, to hold him so much

At last at the top
The moment was here
She outstretched her hand, it trembled in fear

She threw the doors open
And stopped her heart dead
There he lay holding a girl in his bed

She let out a sound
A sob, scream and gasp
And he was beside her, he'd got there so fast

Her heart began breaking
The tears hid her eyes
He tried to console her, she wanted to die

She stepped backwards slowly
Hands around her ears
Trying to block out his tender voice, and put an end to these tears

Her chest grew tight, she clutched it
The pain would not abate
Where once was love within her, was now replaced with hate

She tried to push right past him
He stood blocking the door
She ran toward the balcony and tripped over the door

She stumbled unbalanced
Closer to the brink
And then her gaze fixed upward, faster than a wink

The sirens in the distance
The night splashed blue and red
The paramedics called it, this broken girl was dead.
