I want to fly across the ocean As fast as a jet can fly I won’t worry about slowing down Until I reach the other side I want to win a billion dollars Then hitchhike from sea to sea Handing out the cash To those who really are in need I want to live with the grizzlies Roar loud and puff my chest Be the king of the mountain And look down at all the rest I want to drive a herd of cattle Across the western plains To see if I could handle What my granddad did each day I want the eagle to find my spirit And show me the blessed way A path to shore my conscience And to keep my mind at bay I want to dance with my wife Every day for a hundred years And tell my great-grandchildren What it’s like to love so dear I want to hit that walk off homer Or score on the final play Just to let myself know What it felt like back in the day I want to cry now and then If the moment hits me right To remember when the kids were babies And money was so tight I want to take a walk to heaven And if I really pray All my friends and family Would be there for just one day I want to have a drink with my son And walk my girls down the aisle Then maybe on some far off day They’ll think of me and smile I want to explore an unknown region Push myself farther than I know Reach the breaking point Yet continue to go I want to jump as high as possible Then crash down the rabbit’s hole And maybe finally find a home For this vagabond soul
