Simple things

It's the simple things that make up life,
they're the things that make us free.
In spite of all the pain and strife,
there's so much joy to see.

The paths we choose are just our own,
those things are what we need.
Eventually we'll all be shown,
that ever-growing seed.

The only thing that holds us back,
is the images we cling to.
When we choose a different tack,
It won't be one, but be two.

Life's a journey, it takes time,
but pans out in the end.
The only really brutal crime,
is how we choose to spend.
